The grid system was designed by Nathan Smith in 2007.
Inpsired by book printing methods, the system allows content
to be arranged in easily in boxes.
The original grid was 12 columns and 960 pixels wide because
that was considered the ideal with for web design at the time. With 10 pixels of margin on the right and left, the twelve
columns have 60 pixels with 20 pixel gutters on either side.
